audience reaction: The audience liked it. But ... no one gave it a "Hands Clapper" ending.
recommendation: I liked it enough. If you don't get caught-up in its plot holes, it might prove to be enjoyable enough to watch.
spoiler alert! The alien wreckage was in shallow water so that it was well within some country's territory, but it wasn't even guarded at all. And since it was sitting in the water for 18 months, it should have already been dismantled, salvaged and auctioned-off to high bidders! Is Nairomi a typo? Why was the CIA spy still using a 35mm film camera? Why was Superman blamed for the deaths in Africa? Why did it take Lois Lane ( Amy Adams ) a long time to notice the bullet stuck to her notebook? She should have noticed the stuck bullet as soon as she retrieved her notebook! So we see Superman pulling a ship to shore, an ice-covered shore where his shoes would have very little traction at all--it would have been better had he just flown it to shore! In the Darkseid encounter, two bad guys hesitated in an ill-timed fight sequence. With all of that water in the lake, the Bat Cave Tunnel should have been filled with water as it opened. When Bruce had his Wayne Enterprises accountant ( Chris Newman ) fetched, why did the accountant know right away that it had to do with the returned cheques? How did the alien ship's computer know to speak in English to somebody who impersonated a Kryptonian? Why did Superman have to fly faster than the speed of sound since Gotham City is just across the bay from Metropolis, being that sound travels 1 mile/5 seconds? When the columns were smashed in that old, abandoned building, why didn't it collapse? Why did the bad guy try to fetch a live grenade? The physics used in lifting the cargo box was wrong. If I were Doomsday, I would be angry too if I were created to have no penis at all! If you abruptly leave an airplane like that in today's post-911, you would more than raise suspicion! Why was the fallen Doomsday's energy huge enough to be seen from outer space? That big hole in the chest sure yielded no blood at all!
fyi: This movie picks up from where the first Superman movie and the last Batman movie left-off. It's nice to know that Batman has a voice-altering mic this time around! The Dr. Pepper soda in the Cyborg lab was an inspired bit of levity.
I just found out last week that Superman is vulnerable to Pink Kryptonite---Ha, ha, ha.
word of advice: Don't play God.
tidbits: The 3rd time that I watched this movie, some asshole was pointing a laser pointer at the screen. What a jerk. This is another reason why I just hate the "Vallejo Crowd"!
I've been so busy these past few weeks tracking my stock investments and searching for other companies to invest in. So far, my first foray into stock investment has yielded some positive results after it was publicly traded. It will appreciate in value even more late this year and early next year; by which time, I should be able to cash it in for some serious yield!
