ABIGAIL

I started watching this Social Distancing Era movie at predawn today, Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, in bed ๐Ÿ›️ via my cellphone's ๐Ÿคณ TUBI Streaming App.

Scene Commentaries:

'Fooled you, didn't I? ๐Ÿ˜‰  You thought that it was The OTHER movie!  ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

Okay, during the COVID Lockdown someone decided to make a movie about it. But in an extreme scenario kind of way. Eddie Marsan is the only familiar face in this movie. And everyone speaks in English. I just don't know where it was filmed. I'll just have to wait 'til the Ending Credits rolls up to find out where it was filmed.  ๐Ÿ˜•

I'm shocked to learn that Eddie Marsan is way younger than I am but looks older! ๐Ÿ˜ง  I hope that he's not suffering from some kind of biological disorder.

Friendly betrayal is a low-blow!  ๐Ÿ‘Ž Oxymoron Alert❗You can't really trust your friends and neighbors in such an authoritarian society.

Anyone who's hiding an infected family member "... will be charged for Treason for having put Public Safety at risk." cdc director faux (na)-zi could have said it, given enough time! ๐Ÿ˜

Shouldn't the interrogator be practicing "social distancing" and wearing a mask ๐Ÿ˜ท and a pair of gloves ๐Ÿงค? Just asking a Common Sense question, that's all❗

This movie has a '40s feel to it.

I like how the change of angles in the scene of Abigail walking around the stranger's home is choreographically timed with the phonograph's music.

This movie is shaping out to be like a "Harry Potter met an X-woMAN and they had babies" kind of movie .... ๐Ÿค”

He just had to Misgender her!  ๐Ÿ™„  At least she didn't want to march in lockstep with the Loonies ❗๐Ÿ‘❗

I remember when I was very much younger and would get mistaken for a girl on occasion; it was downright embarrassing. And there were times when an older person would misgender me and I would just play along by changing my voice so as not to embarrass the older person. Oh, boy, the things that I did just because it was expected of me to Respect My Elders. Well, it's My Turn Now❗๐Ÿ˜Ž❗I'll be singing that R-E-S-P-E-C-T song anytime soon!  ๐Ÿ‘ด

๐Ÿ‘‰  https://youtu.be/A134hShx_gw?si=aNYGaSIX9X4qJAEt

Mirror, mirror on the wall. What's your secret for as all?

"A society of equals" is what the Nazis aimed for with their Aryan Race movement. Yup, this movie DOES have an intentional '40s feel to it after all ❗Damn that faux (na)-zi!

If your enemy is running away from you in a straight line, you and your comrades have a much better chance of killing them off if you just stop, form a tight row and shoot at the fleeing enemy, Execution Style!  ๐Ÿคจ  I hope that I don't get moderated for this again.  ๐Ÿคž

If you love him so much, why would you deliberately put him in harm's way❓๐Ÿคท‍♂️❗๐Ÿคฆ‍♂️ Believe me, NECROPHILIA ain't fun!  ๐Ÿ˜œ

I sensed that there was something wrong with this movie. At first, I couldn't figure out whether it was the acting, the script dialogues, the pacing or the directing. It's the script! They should have brainstormed the ( sometimes unintentionally funny ) dialogues with me, Cine-Man!  ๐Ÿ˜

Speaking of which, the Audio is not in sync with the Video!  ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Her car has Suicide Doors. Is it symbolic?  ๐Ÿค”

Oh, great .... That's just swell. The resistance movement is being led by a Fairy!  ๐Ÿคฆ‍♂️ Am I the only one who sees the Tongue in Cheek humor in this Mollywood movie?  ๐Ÿคท‍♂️

The bad guy reminds me of Adrien Brody!  ๐Ÿ˜•

Yeah, this movie might have received a positive response had it been shown on the Big Screen here in the USA:

KD Studios LLC was founded in
Russia back in 2012. They
make good quality
non-WOKE
movies.

If any of my Russian readers have connections with this studio, please hook me up! And be sure to remind them of my Sob ๐Ÿ˜ข Story, that it's part of my Bucket ๐Ÿชฃ List! That should elicit some attention from them. ๐Ÿค‘  They seem quite proficient in the English language. So, it should be easy for me to negotiate terms, and to collaborate,  with them in the Horror, Action & Sci-Fi genres! ๐Ÿค“ ( Fortune Favors The Bold, i.e. Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat )

Tidbits:

I broke my pre-Blood Draw fast yesterday by going to Selecta Pilipino Buffet Restaurant for lunch. The 2 cloves of Raw ๐Ÿง„ Garlic that I brought with me were still alive! I mean, whenever I would bite into them, the feisty little ones would bite my tongue back❗๐Ÿ˜–  I wonder if I'll be met with the same kind of resistance from their siblings this coming Sunday .... ๐Ÿค”

Then, I went next door to see what the close-out sale at the 99-Cents Only Store had left for me to pick through. They only had about 10% left on their sales floor stock inventory.  ๐Ÿ™

There was nothing that I
wanted to buy.

But something interested me outside of the store on the right side. Two young ladies, a Pinay and a Chicana, were giving away free phones ๐Ÿ“ฑ with free ๐Ÿ†“ monthly service. What's the catch? To qualify, you have to be on government assistance program. The Cloud C7 Mobile Phone is basic with a 5 MP front camera & an 8 MP rear camera. A 2.0 GHz Quad Core CPU. And only a 2 GB RAM/16 GB ROM Internal Memory. But it has Dual Sim so you can get an SD Card for more GB since once you activate it, most of the available GB will be used for its own functions! And you have to use it each month to keep your free service active. Lastly, it is a 4G living in a 5G world. But It Is Free And "Beggars Can't Be Choosers."

They only get a commission of
$10 for every free phone
that they can give
away. ๐Ÿ‘Ž

But I don't know if it is a good idea for me to help them to spread the word about the free phones. Because such free phones really aren't free at all. If you use such a phone because you need emergency ambulance ๐Ÿš‘ service to the hospital ๐Ÿฅ, you just might end up becoming an unwilling Organ Donor because it's Big Business on the Black Market! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Such phones have a direct connection to an organ harvesting "ambulance service" that takes an emergency patient on a one-way DOA trip to the hospital, according to a military service veteran who dines at Selecta Pilipino Buffet Restaurant. I asked him how he could tell that the ambulance is just a disguised organ harvester. He personally saw one respond to a life emergency and was the first of 3 ambulances that arrived on the scene near the Oakland California Airport; and it had an organ harvesting logo on its sides unlike the other two! You see, with or without an Organ Donor Card, the "government" can make something useful out of the homeless, the addicts, the drunks, the runaways, and the gangbangers anyway they need to❗ Nothing In Life Is Free❗❗This Should Make For A Good, Investigative Movie ❗❗❗

ORDINARY ANGELS

I saw this movie today, Thursday, a Leap Day, February 29th, 2024. The Price of admission was $7.50. I brought a 20 oz ( 591 ml ) bottle of iced Dasani with me.

Synopsis: A small town hairdresser will stop at nothing to raise funds for a little girl's liver transplant surgery. Based on a true story.

PG, 1h & 56m
Auditorium 10, B-7

Scene Commentaries:

This is the first time I've ever heard of this congenital condition involving the Bile Ducts:

-

Why didn't the father call for an ambulance? An ambulance ๐Ÿš‘ is equipped to help stabilize a person experiencing a medical distress. Later on, the grandmother did call for an ambulance on a separate emergency.

Last year's Blockbuster, SOUND OF FREEDOM, based on a TRUE Story, avoids the more sinister ๐Ÿ˜ˆ side of child trafficking: Organ Harvesting ❗Think about it for a minute. You cannot transplant adult-size organs into little children ❗❗You NEED to have little children-size organs to harvest. And what better way than to open the Southern Border to conveniently let in countless Undocumented ( read: NO! PAPER!! TRAILS!!! ) Innocent Children❗❗❗ The better looking ones are sold over and over for SEX! Child sex trafficking is better than selling fentanyl or cocaine because drugs can only be sold once, unlike child sex slaves❗ The ugly, undesirable children are sold for "spare parts"❗❗ These In And Of Themselves Are A Good Reason To Close Our Borders❗❗❗"Let's go, brandon!"๐Ÿ–•

If a child organ recipient suddenly develops a craving for south-of-the-border food, you know the likely reason why!!! ๐Ÿ˜ข

The paper grocery bag is too wrinkled! The scene probably took many takes ๐ŸŽฌ to get it just right.

Isn't there a nonprofit, church-sponsored food pantry in that town?

Why didn't the father apply for governmental aid, based on hardship, for food and medical assistance? After all, US Citizen Taxpayers are entitled to it! Unlike the invading ILLEGALS & JIHADISTS that DEMAND & are then given "free stuff"  ๐Ÿ™„ to change the demographics and to buy their UNCONSTITUTIONAL Votes❗

The blacks who voted for the racist brandon are now realizing that he does not give a damn about blm! Unless, of course, it is an acronym for BROWN Lives matter! You know the kind, the Invaders that are overrunning our country❗

๐Ÿ‘‰  https://youtube.com/shorts/svaZstBEoBA?si=sXxsxcoywO-MyoHO

"Don't you want the bills paid?" Yeah, good question.

But at least the hospital forgave the outstanding bills. If this actually happened, kudos to the hospital.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ‘

A reverse mortgage is a scam! I don't know why Tom Selleck keeps trying to sell it to old people. ๐Ÿคท‍♂️

๐Ÿ‘‰ https://youtu.be/Kb2vYvqC6ro?si=-ODzRXPsePAZfSDt

Her own son's words, "... (N)ot because she's sick. But because she's counting on you!" Ouch! That gotta hurt much!! No wonder she went back to a drinking binge!!! ๐Ÿ˜ต‍๐Ÿ’ซ

Yes, it's hard to part with something that means so much to you. Especially a house built by your own father and which is your last connection to your late wife, as the widower explained. In my case, I have kept some items that once belonged to my mother. I couldn't even finish using the tissues in the facial tissue box that I bought for my mother a few months before she passed away in February of 1996! You cannot put a price on Sentimental Value.

This is the box of facial tissues that I bought
for my mother just months before she
passed away. It's a Scotties Family
Size box. It's either a 175- or
a 200-count one. It is
28½ years old. It's
probably older
than some
of you
are!

"You're not doing it for Michelle. You're doing it for yourself!" He says to the mother who's estranged from her own son and who's substituting the man's daughter in a desperate proxy bid at redemption. ๐Ÿ™

Why didn't they use road flares in the snow whiteout to guide the helicopter? ๐Ÿคท‍♂️  Road flares would have been more visible to the helicopter ๐Ÿš pilot than the jackets and blankets laid out in the landing zone. And when the helicopter's rotor blades blew the jackets and blankets away, I thought that any number of them would get lodged around the blades!  ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

It's a medical emergency and you're in a race against Time! So, stop talking and get in the helicopter right away❗๐Ÿคฆ‍♂️❗

In real life, the airlift happened in the daytime, according to the footage shown during the Ending Credits. Yeah, they didn't need road flares then. ๐Ÿ˜

I just hate it when Whollyweird exercises Creative License to tweak a TRUE Story, for the sake of dramatization!  ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿง They didn't expect Cine-Man to stick around until after the Ending Credits ended! ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ“

Overall, this is a good inspirational movie to go see. Bring a box of tissues with you! 'Just saying .... And if they show this movie again later on in the year, then it's being promoted as an Oscar contender.

Tidbits:

My sister in Michigan texted me this article:

So, I went to the local Wendy's
to try it out for free! ๐Ÿค‘
-
Well, here I was at the local Wendy's Restaurant celebrating Leap Day with my free Cinnabon ๐Ÿง & my free Senior Coffee ☕ breakfast! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘

I felt bad about exploiting the system. ๐Ÿ™ So, I paid for a small fountain Lemonade Tea. BUT not bad enough because I filled my empty Core Hydration water bottle with their fountain water! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

There was no line. I was preceded by a couple of older men who had already taken a table.

The coffee--I forgot to request for a decaf--was too strong for me. Even with the 5 half & half individual mini servings that I put in it! I had to add in 8 squirts of Splenda Stevia ( that I brought with me ) to make it taste better! ๐Ÿ˜• The coffee's unenjoyable taste might have something to do with my not being in the habit of drinking such a beverage. ๐Ÿค”

As for the Cinnabon, it was rather soggy. And it had just a scant cinnamon taste in it. ๐Ÿ‘Ž It was more doughy than "cinnamony" in taste. The sugary icing made it taste slightly better. ๐Ÿ˜’  But just by an itsy-bitsy, tiny bit!๐Ÿ‘Œ

Well, at least I didn't have to pay for either one. ๐Ÿค‘ So, I should stop complaining now! ๐Ÿค

When I arrived back home, I noticed a section of a carport's roof had some damage to it. It was probably caused by the recent rainstorm. The one when I overheard a neighbor asking a tree surgeon to cut a whole tree down for fear that it will damage her unit.

As one can obviously see, the tree
branch fell AWAY from the
building. The user of
 the #60 space
was lucky!

I had some Durian with my Overnight Oats lunch. I still don't know why it's described as, "Smells like Hell, tastes like Heaven." It's stinky and mushy; an acquired taste, literally! ๐Ÿคข

It looks and smells like a porcupine
and a skunk had interspecies
sex and ended up with
an unwanted
baby!

My brother gave it to me yesterday, Wednesday, when I went to his house so he could help me with the oil change in my Hyundai Accent. The oil pan drain plug was installed too tight by a mechanic and my brother has the power tool needed for the job. I also installed the OEM antenna on my car, finally---And I liberally applied Super Glue to the thread and screwed it on tight with the use of an adjustable wrench! ๐Ÿ”ง

After the movie was over, I waited in the theatre lobby for the rain to stop. Then, I walked around the block of Turner Parkway, Admiral Callaghan Lane and Parkview Drive. I was just a few hundred steps shy of reaching my minimum target of 7,000 steps.

But that was okay because I had yet to do a bit of shopping at the Vallejo Neighborhood Wal-Mart. Where I bought cheese, flax seeds, chia seeds and keto breads.

I am doing a price comparison on
Fish Oil brands as I'm running
low on it. I usually get
Krill Oil. But I'm
trying this
one.
In a pinch, Mackerel, Salmon
and Sardines can do the
job once in a while.
But because these fishes
have Mercury in them,
it's best to limit the
amount eaten
per week.
Fish Oils have the
Mercury removed
from them. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

I bought the one in the middle when I went
to the Admiral Callaghan Lane GROCERY
Outlet Bargain Market. It was the last
one on the shelf. I'll keep an eye
out for it so that I can stock
up on it when it is in
stock again. ๐Ÿ‘️

REPO MEN, R ( 1 hr & 51 min )

where: CENTURY 14 VALLEJO in Vallejo, CA
when: Friday, March 19th, 2010
show: 2:00 p.m.
costs: $7.25 Ticket + $5.75 Kid's Pack ( w/ the $1.00 upgrade ) = $13.00
auditorium: 14
seat: 7th row, 8ht column

synopsis: In the near-future, humans in need of replacement organs have the option of choosing mechanical ones. The only problem is, if the patient becomes delinquent on payments, the mechanical organ company sends out a technician, i.e. a repo man, to repossess it.

noteworthy scenes: 1.) Union man, Remy ( Jude Law ); 2.) Rough-housing with Jake ( Forest Whitaker ); 3.) Pancreas guy; 4.) Union men barbecue; 5.) Taxi; 6.) Nest; 7.) 32 1/2; 8.) Jimmy T-Bone ( RZA ); 9.) 3 knock-outs; 10.) Hospital; 11.) Luggage; 12.) Welcome back present; 13.) Problem; 14.) Past due; 15.) Knocking them dead; 16.) Not cut-out for sales; 17.) Knock-out # 4; 18.) Singer ( Alice Braga ); 19.) Altered bar code; 20.) Two parts of the same puzzle; 21.) Want the option; 22.) What brand are your lips; 23.) Cautionary tale; 24.) Bionic ear; 25.) Trap; 26.) Typewriter; 27.) Larry, the Lung; 28.) Airport; 29.) Bleeding; 30.) Freeway off-ramp; 31.) Surgeon; 32.) Rigged defib; 33.) Hunt; 34.) Welcome to your world, repo man; 35.) Subway train; 36.) The 3 guards; 37.) Assembly lab; 38.) Business suit types; 39.) Organ data bank; 40.) Is she worth it; 41.) Repossession Mambo; and 42.) Tropical paradise.

audience reaction: The audience seemed to like this gory slash-fest of a Sci-Fi movie which is an exaggerated satire on the preposterous premise of corporate greed run amock.

recommendation: This movie is strictly played for laughs, albeit a bloody one at that. This would be a great movie for pre-med and law students to poke fun at!

spoiler alert! All the patients who signed the contract did so "under duress"; or to be more specific about it, did so Coactus Volui ( consented under compulsion ), nullifying the contract. I could just envision all the lawsuits filed against this company! The company employed the services of "killers for hire." Why didn't the police do anything about such premeditated murders? Why didn't anybody on the train alert the security/undercover cop about Remy's estranged wife? In the cases wherein a patient had more than one artificial organ replacement done, why didn't the company first do a "credit history" check? All the field surgeries were done under less than ideal conditions, setting the stage for massive blood loss and septic shock. Were the repo men, a.k.a. "technicians", surgeons? Apparently, no! So, they shouldn't have been performing surgical procedures without the knowledge and guidance of a surgeon. Speaking of surgeons, how in heck did a little girl become one? ( Doogie Howser, M.D., look-out! ) Since a person can still live on just one kidney, why did someone go ahead and have an artificial one put in? Since most of the patients/victims died, anyway, why didn't the repo men go ahead and harvest real organs on the side to increase business and commission payments since I'm quite certain that there is still a market for real organs in the future, and because the repo men are employed in a business that is immoral, unethical and downright illegal to begin with? Lastly, why didn't it occur to anyone to add/purchase "delinquency insurance"?

fyi: Would you put a brand-spanking-new V-12 engine ( if you can fit it in ) in an old and rusted-out beat-up Yugo? No, because such an engine would rip the old Yugo apart since they would not be compatible with each other to begin with! This is a perfect analogy for the people in this movie who had the artificial organ transplant procedure done on them. Such organs would need to be calibrated properly to "custom-fit" its respective recipients. Without such a calibration done first, the patient would suffer undue anatomical/physiological stresses. And I don't think that the company hawking such organs sold calibration-capable models--at least, I didn't see any reference to it at all; all of their artificial organs were pretty much of the "cookie-cutter" variety. This is something to think about, for you future artificial organ inventors out there.

word of advice: If you want something done right, do it yourself.

tidbits: Before going to see this movie, I swung by the CSAA office first to pay on my car insurance.

Then, I stopped-off at Postal Annex to put my 'phone bill in the mail-drop. Mike, the proprietor, was outside the front door smoking. I asked him if the reason why he's outside was because his air conditioner was on the blink. No, he told me that he was just out there indulging in his nasty habit: smoking. He added that he's been smoking since he was 14-years old when he had a paper route and could then support his habit. I told him that I quitted when I was 13, that I started when I was four. He was incredulous! I had to explain to him that in the Philippines it's not uncommon to see little boys ( 1st and 2nd graders ) with a lit cigarette in one hand and an opened beer bottle in the other hand. ( Had someone told me early enough that continued smoking would stunt my growth, I would have grown-up to be a basketball player! )

I was going to see the 1:45 p.m. show of the movie, DIARY OF A WIMPY KID. But it was sold out.
