1st movie = MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, PG, 1h 55m @ 1:25 p.m. in Auditorium 10, C-7, for $6.50.
Years after the end of WWII, in 1957, people are still going about the business of rebuilding their lives. One such person is Mrs. Harris ( Lesley Manville ), a widow who's making ends meet as a cleaning lady/seamstress. One day, she sees a haute couture dress in the wardrobe closet of one of her clients. She fancies the dress and decides that she'll have such a dress, just for the sake of having one to own and to keep. She saves up her earnings until she finally has enough money for a trip to Paris to buy a custom-made dress from the Christian Dior House of Fashion. Her charming good nature and upbeat attitude affect those she meets, including Mr. Dior ( Philippe Bertin ) himself.
The actress who plays the part of the fashion model Natasha ( Alba Baptista ) reminds me so much of Audrey Hepburn---Be still, my just-recently-operated-on heart!!! π
Overall, it's a feel-good, old-school movie that's worth seeing. π
