I watched this pre-PLANdemic movie at predawn today, Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, in bed 🛏️ via my cellphone's 🤳 TUBI Streaming App.
Scene Commentaries:
I really wasn't interested in seeing this movie when it first came out in 1977. My classmates who went to see it really liked it. But it seemed senseless to me. The Friday late night KTVU Channel 2's Creature Feature Movies host, the late Bob Wilkins, would sometimes talk about it by himself or with a guest on his show.
Back then, TV stations turned off at 12:30 or at 1:00 a.m. with the playing of the National Anthem; and would come back on at 6:00 a.m. with the latest news. There were 4 late night shows that kids tuned to either on the VHF Channels or the UHF Channels. They were Creature Features; Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark; some Blonde woman's show ( I can't remember her name ) and Kung Fu Theater. I'd check on the other 3 if there was no good, scary movie to see on Creature Features. And back then, TV shows were all free to watch since the advertisers funded the TV stations through ad placements. Ahh, the good ole days of crappy, fuzzy TV reception. 👴
