COCAINE SHARK

I saw this late tonight, Friday, December 8th, 2023, via my home computer, courtesy of my TUBI Streaming App. 🙂  Downloading the app to my computer 💻 sure is a game-changer. 👍 It beats watching movies on my cellphone! 🤳

This movie was 1st released in Japan as

KANIZAMI SHAKURABU, on January

29th of 2023. And was retitled as

COCAINE SHARK when released

on July 7th here in the USA

to take advantage of the

success of COCAINE

BEAR which was

released on

February 24th of this same year. 

I didn't even know that there was such a

shark movie until I did a 2023 movie

search on TUBI. There's another

that is also trying to profit off 

the COCAINE BEAR's Box 

Office success ( it made 

more than twice its 

production costs ):

It is the one which is titled

COCAINE COUGAR. 

I don't think that I

want to see this

one because it

didn't get good

feedback. And

it was made

so cheaply!

A human/animal hybrid is accidentally let loose by a research lab experimenting with chimeras which are fueled by the highly-addictive hallucinogenic, body altering drug, HT-25. Drug-fueled carnage happens along the way. 

Sadly, I see why this movie flew under the radar and never made it to the Big Screen here in the US: Bad Script, Bad Acting, Bad Directing & Bad SFX.

It's as if the SFX guy is a little kid who just used

toy crab 🦀 legs and toy man's arms and stuck

them into a lame excuse for a yellow-green

Play-Doh® shark that would make Ray

Harryhausen groan in utter

embarrassment

for the "kid"!

Watching this movie made me realize how such movie-making specialties are taken for granted. This movie is like a throwback to the schlock movies of the '50s but shot with better video equipment ( and not much else ). Think of it as the Celluloid 🎥 version of Vanity Book 📖 Publishing! 

Also, how did the detective keep his beard well-trimmed when he was strapped to his hospital bed? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Don't expect to see a Megalodon like in the Jason Statham's MEG movies, either ❗👎❗

COCAINE BEAR is a way much better movie. But,  unfortunately, I never got to blog about it because I didn't know how long I was supposed to be banned from posting. I never got to pay my last respects to the late Ray Liotta. ☹️
