THE LEGEND OF GATOTKACA

I watched this movie very early today, Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, in bed via my cellphone's TUBI Streaming App. 

Scene Commentaries:

This movie starts out with a montage, just like in Marvel and in DC movies. And the star on Gatotkaca's chest is like that of Capt. Marvel's. Leading some to speculate that this Indonesian superhero is somehow a rip-off of Capt. Marvel. 

Some Indonesian words that I heard which the characters used are similar to Pilipino words: Kota, Sakit, Langit, Diwata, Keta, Anak, Pinto, Kamo, etc. 🧐

Based on an overhead drone shot of a traffic scene, I don't think I'd want to drive across any busy intersection in Indonesia. It's like an organized chaos! 😲 And it seems that it would be safer for a pedestrian to just jaywalk. 🚸 

If that magic medal was buried in a very shallow grave inside of a more than likely untreated 🙄  wooden jewelry box for about 20 years, approximately, then the box should have already rotted by then! And its content would have been soaked in muddy rainwater.  😕

They should have consulted with me first, Cine-Man, the Termite Awareness Expert. 🤓  I had seen how termites infested and damaged wood in the Philippines way more times than I would even care to count. 😒

For someone to spit water on such a magic medal as a mantra was just performed on it is very SACRILEGIOUS❗ Mantras, like solemn prayers, must be uttered with respect. That's what Buddhist monks and Kriyabans, like myself, are taught to do. In real life, there is no excuse for the spitter to do what he did! 😡

It takes 1 ( yes, ONE! ) hour for Yuda to become the superhero GATOTKACA.  🥱

The fight scenes in the Kauravas' hideout, outside in the dark and inside in the dimly lit red room, should really have been better lit. Fire the new guy cameraman!  😠

How strange it is that, based on martial arts skills, my last blog was about "Like mother, like daughter." And this movie is about "Like father, like son." Go figure ....  😕

"Hey, is the family drama done?" 😂 😂 😂  The bad guy ACTUALLY took a break from fighting just to have a popcorn moment .... 🥤😐🍿

This is a good Whollyweird style Superhero movie. As it is almost as good as Big Budget Superhero movies that are from Whollyweird! Had they dubbed it and shown it here in the States on the Big Screen, it probably would have been well-received. But it somehow reminds me of last year's BLUE BEETLE, which didn't do so well. So, maybe GATOTKACA wouldn't be a US Domestic hit at the Box Office, after all. 🤷‍♂️

Gatotkaca has its origin in the Indian epic Mahabharata.

Tidbit:

Because it's mostly raining today, I spent the better part of the afternoon just watching you tube programs on health, apologetics, and politics.
