I went to see this movie yesterday, October 29th, 2024, at the Regal Edwards Fairfield & I-Max in Fairfield, CA, a Discount Tuesday. The price of admission was $6.99. I brought a packet of Jolly Rancher Watermelon Drink Mix to flavor my 20 oz ( 591 ml ) of Dasani Water. I also bought a large tub of Buttered Popcorn 🍿 for $5.50. I really should stop buying popcorn because it's not a nutritious food and all of that grease makes it just harder for me to take notes ✍️ in the dark! 😕

Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote are drunk in a bar in Mexico, still on the run after their recent battle with Carnage. The murder of Patrick Mulligan makes international headlines with Eddie being named the prime suspect, forcing him to set out to New York City and attempt to clear his name.
Unbeknownst to either one of them, a creature known as a Xenophage has begun tracking Eddie and Venom. The recent events catch the attention of Rex Strickland, a soldier who oversees Imperium, a government operation at the site of the soon-to-be-decommissioned Area 51 for the capture and study of other symbiotes that have fallen to Earth. Mulligan, revealed to have survived his encounter with Carnage, is captured after being left for dead by another symbiote, who eluded Strickland's soldiers. He is bonded with one of many contained symbiotes and questioned by Imperium to learn about the symbiotes' purpose on Earth before Strickland is ordered to bring Venom down.
While attaching themselves onto the side of an airplane bound for New York City, Eddie and Venom are attacked by the Xenophage tracking them and are forced to drop off into a desert field. Venom explains to Eddie that Xenophages were unleashed into the universe by Knull, the creator of the symbiotes, to retrieve a "Codex" forged when a symbiote brings its host back to life, which can free Knull from the prison the symbiotes trapped him in long ago. Because Venom revived Eddie once before,[c] he now carries a Codex that the Xenophage tracked to Earth. After being ambushed by Strickland and his team, barely escaping from them and the Xenophage, Eddie eventually comes across a traveling hippie family in the woods, who offer him a ride to Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Mulligan's new symbiote informs Strickland and his team of Knull's true intentions and the role of the Codex, which can only be destroyed if either Eddie or Venom dies. ( The Xenophage was able to attach itself to the airplane ✈️ which was flying at a much higher altitude and at a faster velocity than the helicopter. 🚁 My question is, why wasn't the Xenophage able to EASILY hitch a ride to the helicopter❓🤷♂️ ... 🤦♂️❗)
Arriving in Las Vegas, Eddie and Venom run into Mrs. Chen ( looking like a MILF! 😜 ) at a casino and Venom shares a dance with her before being ambushed by the Xenophage again. Strickland's team arrives, captures Venom and incapacitates Eddie. ( Strickland now knows the secret of the Codex and how to neutralize it! Why didn't he just kill Eddie right away❓🤷♂️ After all, that was the only solution to the imminent Invasion problem❗🤦♂️ ) In Area 51, Eddie is interrogated before Venom manages to escape confinement, attracting the Xenophage's attention to the Codex again as it attacks the base. Venom orders the release of the other symbiotes confined in the lab, which bond with new hosts, to fight off the Xenophage. ( Why do some of the symbiotes--which are genderless--identify themselves as females with Nice & Firm 😘 boobies❓🤷♂️ ) Eddie, Strickland and lead researcher Teddy Payne run into Martin and his family, who have also infiltrated Area 51 in search of aliens. Knull, having pinpointed the Codex's location, sends more Xenophages through portals to attack Venom. Eddie attempts to lure the creatures away to save Martin and his family, who escape with the help of other symbiotes. Realizing that he must separate from his host to destroy the Codex and save the universe, Venom bids Eddie farewell and merges with the Xenophages, leading them to acid tanks as a mortally wounded Strickland sets off his grenades to destroy them. Eddie passes out as the base burns.
Eddie later wakes up in a hospital and is informed by a federal official that due to his heroic actions with Venom at Area 51, his entire criminal record has been expunged but he may never mention it to anyone. ( Heck, for his heroic actions, he should also have demanded Witness Protection and a cushy Monthly Stipend BECAUSE ... HE ... EARNED ... IT ❗💵🤑💵❗). Arriving in New York City, Eddie reminisces on the memories he had with Venom, while watching the Statue of Liberty. In a mid-credits scene, Knull exclaims that the universe is no longer safe from him. In a post-credit scene, a bartender escapes Area 51 in a panic, while a cockroach appears to be fused with the Venom symbiote. It's an entertaining movie if you can ignore the Plot 🕳️ Holes that I pointed out for you. 🧐
