This is the 2nd movie which I saw yesterday, Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, here in Vallejo's Century 14 Cinemas. The price of admission was $6.50.

Scene Commentaries:

Based on a true story, an opening scene showing an evil stepmother intentionally blinding her stepdaughter with Battery Acid to force such an innocent child into a life of mendicancy was beyond abhorrent❗😠❗😡❗🤬❗I loathed that woman, and may God punish her for her Evil Deed❗ 

"Street beggars in India make more money when they're legally blind."   😠

I remember the 1980 comedy movie, WHOLLY MOSES! There was a con artist begging for money, pretending to be blind. Moses poked him in the eyes and he angrily became instantly "healed"! The people marveled and began to believe that "Moses" was, indeed, a true prophet sent by God!  😆 😆 😆

Approximately 3⅓ years ago, the battery in my Hyundai Accent finally died out. It wouldn't recharge anymore. I filled each cell with Distilled Water and tried to recharge it again. But it stayed dead. I had to take it to an auto parts store for a replacement. But I was too weak to carry the car battery to my Saturn SC-1 which was parked in my designated parking area about 75 yards/meters away on a slight incline. 

This was before my Foot and Heart surgeries. I went to fetch my folding luggage hand truck. I put the car battery on it and pulled it towards my Saturn. It fell off 4 times. It didn't break or crack. But, unbeknownst to me, the battery vents were spraying a very fine, imperceptible mist of Sulfuric Acid in my face.

Don't ask me why I just didn't drive my Saturn to where my Hyundai was parked! Because I just thought about it JUST NOW❗🤦‍♂️❗Duhh ....  🥴

I got into my Saturn and drove to an auto parts store. Along the way, my eyes started feeling Very Painful and they were shedding tears! 😭  I reasoned that it was Sulfuric Acid❗I couldn't drive anymore in the condition that I was in. I pulled over on the shoulder of the road, Couch Street, as I remembered that I keep a spray bottle of water in the trunk of my car. I got out of my car and sprayed & sprayed my eyes until they weren't painful anymore. I Cannot Even Begin To Imagine The Pain And Suffering That The Poor Innocent Little Girl Had To Go Through❗😢❗

Then, I drove to 5 different auto parts store to find the least expensive battery to buy but which has sufficient cranking power.  🤑

Back in my junior year in highschool, I went to school one day wearing a patriotic T-shirt; a surplus olive drab army jacket that an uncle gave me; a Red, White & Blue Visor and a pair of white jeans with Stars & Stripes running down its entire length that I bought at the local Goodwill Thrift Store. There I was, wearing a patriotic message on the recently ended Vietnam War. The whole class was quiet. 😳 And I wasn't even a US Citizen yet!  They probably laughed behind my back after class was over!  😄

And I still don't know why Dr. Bartnovsky refused to have Dr. Wang fix his eyes.   🤷‍♂️

This is a good movie. And it is being shown now to cap-off the AAPI Month.

I'll check and see if it will be there again the next time that I walk around the block.

Today, Thursday, June 6th, 2024, I had to go to Kaiser Permanente Hospital because my custom Orthopedic Shoes are ready.  🙂  I wanted to walk it to and from the hospital. But I decided not to because I am testing my new pair of Compression Socks; and I've never worn such socks 🧦 before.  😕  I parked my car on the 2nd floor of the hospital parking garage.  To test my new Compression Socks, I walked to the J&R Mini Mart & Gas ⛽ to buy some lottery tickets.

I swung by my Cardiologist's clinic to find out why he hasn't yet responded to my e-mail in April regarding my Blood Work. I asked if he was on some kind of an extended vacation. The receptionist checked my records and said that the doctor did indeed answer back. I will have to check my inbox later.

Then, I walked on over to the Podiatry Clinic for my 10:40 a.m. appointment.

A patient just stepped out at 10:46. And he wished us all in the waiting room a fun day. I thanked him and wished him the same thing. He said, "Of course, I always do." Positive Thinking by an older white gentleman. 👌🙂👍

After my appointment, I went back to J&R Mini Mart and Gas ⛽ to get $4.40 of gas ( 1 gallon/~4 liters ). The pump stopped at $5.40. I don't know if I gave the clerk $4.40 OR $5.40. I was gonna go back and give him $1.00 but I counted the dollar bills in my wallet and it seemed to be the right amount. I hope that I am right about it. 🤞

I drove to the new Dollar Tree Store on Sonoma Boulevard to see about buying more Compression Socks. They only had 1 pair left in men's size but they had a few in women's size. I bought the last men's pair of socks. Hopefully, they will stock some more later on. Because I like how the socks feel to have on my feet!  👍

And I went across the parking lot to shop at the Vargas Mexican Grocery Store for a half pound/0.2 kg of freshly made Chicharons ( Pork Rinds, with Meat & Fat ) for $6.50. As soon as I got home, I had half of the Chicharons for my 1st meal of the day which is Lunch! 😋 

I'll have my breakfast at around 6:00 p.m. before I go on my evening walk. It should be cooler by then.

IN A VIOLENT NATURE

I went to see this movie here in Vallejo, CA at the Century 14, today, June 4th, 2024, an All Day Bargain Tuesday. The price of admission was $6.50. I brought a Margaritaville Strawberry Daiquiri Singles To Go packet to flavor my iced 20 oz ( 591 ml ) bottle of Dasani Water. And I also brought with me a SlimFast Keto Strawberry Topped Cheesecake mini snack bar and a Ratio Keto Friendly Toasted Almond Crunchy Bar for lunch.

The necklace.  😐

Before I continue further, here are the 3 trope cliches that I see repeatedly in horror/slasher movies: No dogs when they are sorely needed, victims lack Peripheral Vision and "slow as molasses" killers! 😒  Also, don't ever venture into the wilderness unprepared and unarmed because it's not a G-rated, kid-friendly dizzy-knee environment to find yourself in--and remember what I said recently about having a snake bite kit in your emergency pack❗😉❗

Okay, so here goes ....

Approximately 65% to 75% of this movie 👉Is WASTED👈 on following the slow-moving killer in the woods. It's as if this length of time is used to think up what to do or how to handle the next victim. 😕  Obviously, no brainstorming session was even added to the production of this low budget movie. As if this wasted time is not enough, there isn't even any music to accompany the "suspenseful" 🥱 scenes!

The old fart victim knew the lay of the land, and even had trail markers set in place. Yet, somehow, he still managed to get himself ensnared in his own bear trap❗🤦‍♂️❗

Probably the only noteworthy scene in this movie was when the 2nd victim's top part of the head was thrown through a glass window and it landed right side up! 👌

Why did yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ girl just stand there when it was safe enough for her to slide herself down the long embankment❓

Back about 9 years ago, I was walking in the trail section of Dan Foley Park when I arrived at the embankment and noticed something at the lake shore which caught my interest. I started walking down the embankment for a closer look when I lost my footing on the loose gravel and hyper-flexed my bad left knee❗😖❗And I didn't have my Articulated Knee Brace on because I forgot to put it on before I left my condo. 🤦‍♂️  And I thought that nothing bad was going to happen to my knee! Oh, boy, did I ever think incorrectly!!  🙄  It was one long and painful walk for me out of the trail!!!  😣

The killer's eyes are clouded-over but he can still see with them?!?!?!  👨‍🦯

Why didn't the ranger call for emergency back-up ❓🤷‍♂️❗🤦‍♂️❓

Why didn't the shotgun-toting ranger shoot out the killer's arms and legs when he had plenty of time to do so?  🤷‍♂️  After all, the ranger knew that the killer died years before; and making it Deader than DEAD should not even be up for a moral discussion. There was also a handy axe 🪓 nearby that could have been used for such a job, too!  REMEMBER: Neutralize A Threat As Best You Can As Soon As Possible❗

Okay, the killer is supposedly learning-disabled and, based on his origin, never was around machinery long enough to learn to operate any such machinery! Yet, The Killer Was Able To Easily Identify & Operate A Log Splitter❗🙄❗

Why in HELL did the last victim stand well within striking distance of the killer❓🤷‍♂️❗

It's time for me to reword the Lizzie Borden poem:

Killer Johnny took an axe, gave the victim 40 whacks! Once he liked what he had done, gave the victim 'nother 41❗🪓❗

The woman stood frozen on the spot as if she was thinking to herself, "Nope, I ain't having any of this sh!t❗" 

The boring story told in the truck almost made me fall asleep!  😔

This movie was made with just one thing in mind: Make it gory simply for the sake of gore. And you'd be braindead to expect more of this movie!  👎

In fact, the other Canadian movie that I recently saw, LOWLIFES, is better than this one!  👍

This movie was filmed in the Canadian side of Sault ( pronounced: "Soo" ) Sainte Marie.

My eldest sister and her late husband ( along with my then little niece ) took me to The United States' side of Sault Sainte Marie back in 2005 ( almost 19 years ago ), during my 1st ever trip to Michigan. We stayed the night at a motel. It was also the very 1st time that I had Fish & Chips!  😋

The Soo Locks is where boats from Canada and from The United States are put in an enclosure where the water level is then lowered ( from the Canadian side ) and raised ( from The United States side ) for the boats to travel to and from "Canada's" Lake Superior to "The United States'" Lake Huron. The word, Sault ( pronounced: "Soo" ) is French for Falls or Rapids. And which is why they put a boat enclosure, i.e. Locks, in place to raise or lower the water level depending on which country a boat needs to travel to.

You can stand at the river bank of Sault Saint Marie and can see the Canadians across the river. You could even converse with them if you wanted to--in English! My sister's late husband quipped that if he ever drove their SUV across the border, he wouldn't be checked for a passport but we would have to be checked!  😁 😁 😁

It was a cold afternoon in late September or in late October when we watched the Soo Locks in operation. It's the # 1 tourist attraction in the quaint US town of Sault Sainte Marie.  😏  And, boy, was it cold---My butt was freezing!  🥶  After that experience, I would make sure to wear thermal or fleece underpants whenever I'd vacation during the cold season in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  😀 

Tidbit:

Claudio, the Jason Momoa lookalike was there. He asked me what movie that I was there to see. I told him that I was about to see IN A VIOLENT NATURE. He thought that it seemed like an '80s slasher flick. I told him I'll let him know what I think about the movie later on.

I did a little bit of walking around the parking 🅿️ lot before my next movie started. And I did get around to telling Claudio that this horror movie majorly sucked Big Time❗🧐👎❗

I don't even see a training area to practice riding skills in.  😕  Anyway, it will be a while before I will get a mini-moto. So, this plan will have to get shoved into the back burner for now.  I have my eye on this Benelli 🏍️

I saw a co-worker when I went to the Admiral Callaghan Lane Grocery Outlet Bargain Market to buy some nutritional supplements. He didn't even know that I had an Open Heart Triple Bypass surgery ❗😮❗When I filled him in on my current condition, he remarked that I am half dead and half alive❗🤞❗ BUT that about sums it up for me, for now.  😐

I had a long day today, Monday, June 3rd, 2024. I had to wake up extra early to be on a consultation call sharply by 9:00 a.m. It took over an hour. Then, I went back to sleep 😴 for 2 hours to catch up on some lost sleep! I went to GOIN' POSTAL to pick up some mail. And I proceeded to the post office to drop-off my bill payments and to buy a booklet of postage stamps. I prefer the US Flag stamps but they're sold out of it! I had to settle for floral stamps.  😒👎

I went to the employment department.

But they couldn't help me find any

employment because of the 

specialty field that I have 

experience in.  😕

I was given this job hunting application 

form. I can't make it to either of this

week's info sessions because

of my doctor's appointments.

I'll try for the last week of 

June's info sessions.

I didn't see any "chocolate varieties" parading their "wares" on the infamous stretch of Sonoma Boulevard on my way to the York & Marin Streets Grocery Outlet Bargain Market. I guess that the city is cracking down on street prostitution "traffic hazard".  🤷‍♂️

I bought a few groceries before I headed on home. I decided to take a little nap before having my late lunch. And I really ended up with having a REALLY Late Lunch because I woke up at past 10:00 p.m❗ I didn't even have the time to finish my daily walk❗🙁❗ Because I had to get back to finishing this movie blog.

I first saw this movie either after I had my emergency Foot 🦶 surgery on August 1st, 2021 or after my Heart 🫀 surgery on May 24th, 2022. But I'm glad that I made time to see it again for the 2nd time because it is funnier now that I really paid it a lot of attention ❗By the way, the main character in this movie is an Iranian-British comedian.

They had to travel all day and all night just to hunt for food? 😮 This reminds me of an old field documentary that was shown in my Cultural Anthropology class. In it was an aborigine boy who chased after a lizard.🦎 The lizard crawled into a hole in a dirt mound. The boy dug and dug for many hours until, finally after so much caloric expenditure, he was able to catch the lizard to take home to eat. He had nothing to put the lizard in because he had no bag or clothes on. He took a long, thin twig and tied it around his waist. Then, he wedged the lizard by its neck in his makeshift "belt." It makes us grateful that the only time that we civilized humans spend on hunting & gathering is when we go to the local market.  😕

This movie didn't do so well during the Memorial Day Weekend at The Box Office. This year has the poorest record of most of the Memorial Day Weekend box office receipts in the last 3 decades! To make it worse, the GARFIELD movie did better during the same period❗🤦‍♂️❓🤷‍♂️❗

Truth be told, though, there are 3 factors that made movie-going lose its public appeal:

1.) The PLANdemic made most people lose their interest in socializing with others. Which brings to mind this saying, "If you do something everyday for 30 days, It Becomes A Habit!" This was The PLAN of the PLANdemic all along❗😡❗ Just wait and see what happens come November's Presidential Election when lazy, irresponsible DEMON-crats Will Demand To Vote By Mail Again Because Another PLANdemic Is Being Hatched Right Now As I Write This❗👎❗

2.) Streaming App services took a huge chunk off the cinemas' movie watching audiences across the board! As I sat down next to the theatre's box office to write some entries to this blog, a man and his family went back to their white SUV which was parked next to my silver Saturn SC-1 after seeing their movie. He looked at my car and said, "Now that's a Lamborghini ( Countach )!" Flattering, Yes; but, No. I honestly don't see ANY resemblance at all!  🤨  Also, my Saturn is actually bigger than the size of a Countach!! I've seen a couple of Countach replicas and they're quite small!!!

Even for a 5'6"/168 cm tall guy like me!

Today, Sunday, June 2nd, I went to Selecta Pilipino Buffet Restaurant for lunch and, also, to buy some lotto tickets.

I'll have to walk on over to the nearby Dollar Tree Store to buy an anti-perspirant/deodorant because my armpits are sweating so much; even in the shade❗🏜️❗

And I have to search for an MSF ( Motorcycle Safety Foundation ) Training School that's supposed to be about 10 blocks away from Selecta. I'm thinking of getting a mini-moto just to tool around on in the city but fast enough to keep up with city traffic and strong enough to go up hills.

Then, I will do some shopping at the Admiral Callaghan Lane Grocery Outlet Bargain Market because I'm out of 2 kinds of nutritional supplements.
