I went to see this yesterday, February 13th, 2024, a 5 Dollar All Day Tuesday, at the Regal Edwards Fairfield & I-Max, after I watched OUT OF DARKNESS. The price of admission was $5.00. And I bought a Large tub of Popcorn for $5.40. I brought a stick of Wyler's Light Zero Sugar Island Punch to flavor my Aquafina bottled water. I also brought my own special, secret popcorn seasoning blend that I made myself. It's savory 😋 and somewhat spicy! 🥵

SCENE COMMENTARIES: 

This movie, set in 1989, is somewhat like a Horror Comedy version of the 1985 movie, DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN.

I never saw this movie nor would I

want to! Because madonna had

a bad influence on two girls

that I know from around

the time when she

became famous.

The tanning bed reminds me so much of a Panini press sandwich maker. Towards the movie's end is when I realized that I was right. 👌

As for the other things wrong with this movie, let's just say that all of the science courses that I took in college makes it hard for this movie to suspend my disbelief--which is what movies are supposed to do❗ Attention, Whollyweird: You Only Have One Job And That Is To Suspend Your Moviegoers' Disbelief❗❗ That's it❗❗❗Why do you keep failing at such a simple, SINGLE Job❓🤷‍♂️❓🤦‍♂️❓

The Pinay American actress Liza Soberano, who plays the role of Taffy, Is The Only Reason Why I Went To See This Movie! I've heard of her but never saw her on the Big ( or small ) Screen before now. She reminds me so much of a classmate of mine back in elementary school in Davao City, Mindanao, Philippines. This girl, whose name is Joy, has the same kind of eyes as Liza's. She was also very beautiful with her twinkly eyes and dimpled smile. But knowing that I would be immigrating with my siblings to the USA soon made me obsess with all things--and girls--that are European American! Had I known then what I know now, I would have pursued and courted her; especially since I seem to have met with her mother's approval! Now that I've spent the better part of my life here in the States, I've come to appreciate what is meant by the proverb on unrealized love, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." And what is meant by Shakespeare's Juliete when she said, "Parting is such sweet sorrow ...." ☹️  But I should not even quote Tennyson's, "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all," since I never even got THE Chance to share joy with Joy at all!  😢💔😭 ( Did I just add a line to Tennyson's poem? 😏 )

Because the surname Soberano is the Spanish word for Sovereign, I asked Soberund if that is what his name means. He said that his father Mr. Goode Sr. gave it to him to uphold and to treasure. Mr. Goode Sr. was a verbally and physically abusive alcoholic at some point in his life. One day, he finally realized what he was doing to himself and, more importantly, to his pregnant wife so decided to quit drinking alcohol, Cold-Turkey❗ He never touched the stuff ever again so as to serve as a good role model to his own future son. So, he came up with the name of Soberund ( phonetically pronounced, Sew Bee Roond ) for his newborn son. It means, "Sober and ...."  It's a fitting name, I must say not only because my friend's last name is Goode but also because Soberund grew up morally upright, in keeping with his promise to his father! 👍

I got the Blood Draw & Urine Test results back late this evening. My Thyroid, Prostate, Electrolytes, Cholesterol and Triglycerides are all normal. My Hgb A1C is at 6.9 which is 1.3 above normal; but it's going down because it was at 13.5 at one time in September 2020! 

My Albumin to Creatinine ratio is high. As well as my Protein to Creatinine ratio. But I suspect that it's because I don't really drink that much water each day! I usually have between 5 to 7 cups of water each day. I'll try drinking 10 to 12 cups between now and my next Lab Tests in May or June.

An Iranian doctor discovered that many

diseases can be cured simply by 

drinking plenty of water.

I'll see if it's really

true! 👌👍

I have an appointment with my cardiologist on April 3rd. I'm interested in knowing what my new BNP Score will be. I hope that it will be lower, if not back to normal!  🤞

MIRACLE ON HIGHWAY 34

I watched this movie tonight, Sunday, November 26th, 2023, at home on my futon 🛋️ via my TUBI streaming app.

It's a sweet, little Colorado town Christmas movie. But .... 

The waitress's sweetness was somewhat "Saccharine" .... 😕 Or, maybe, she's just one of those overly optimistic types that somehow irritates me! 😐

There was no need for the salesman to have the waitress go and check on his Steak & Mash Potato order. Because he could easily see the greasy spoon cook from where he was seated and could have inquired about it, himself.

Earlier, the salesman couldn't get a cellphone 📱 reception but, obviously, there is a "hotspot" in the back hallway of the diner. That he didn't take advantage of! 🤦‍♂️

Once the salesman revealed what he really was, I knew how the movie would end. And it probably made him rethink his priorities and get back to what he once was ( 'just my wishful thinking ).

Why were there no Mistletoe Kisses at midnight?

Everybody had breakfast bright and early on Christmas Day BUT someone forgot to pull out a warm & fresh "milk jug" to breastfeed the newborn baby! 😲

TIDBITS:

I once almost ran down a jaywalker 2 months ago around a blind curve at night after an on-coming car blinded me with its super bright headlights! 😳 The idiot was just staring straight ahead with a Starbucks coffee in his right hand. I guess that he was just walking in a Caffeine Daze. 🤷‍♂️ The crosswalk was just about 30 yards/meters away where it's brightly lit. But, no .... He wanted to jaywalk❗ He yelled and glared at me❗❗ I just looked at him like, Dude, if I hit you with my car, you won't be able to sue me Because You're Jaywalking ❗❗❗( I hate these new headlights that shine like spotlights! They're just a lawsuit waiting to happen!  )

I tried something new to help increase my Fiber Intake to help lower my LDL & Triglycerides Levels. I made a 3-Ingredient dish using 1 cup of Lentils, 3 cups of Filtered Water and a 15 oz ( 425 g ) bag of Isadora Pork Chili Verde ( Pork In Green Salsa ) that I bought at the 99-Cents Only Store ( for $3.00--ain't nothing 99 cents about that ). 😒

First, I boiled the Lentils in a pot of Water, lowering the heat to simmer in the low setting for 20 minutes and stirring the pot a few times. After it was all cooked, I added-in the pre-cooked Pork Chili Verde to cool down the Lentils. It came out good. 😋👍 It's a High Fiber/Low Salt/High Protein meal! 👌 And it has 7 servings to each batch. Along with 1 boiled Egg 🥚, it's a very Nutritious Meal❗😋

Someday, I'll make this 3-Ingredient dish with a can of Sardines in Tomato Sauce!  😊

I also went around the block to the Neighborhood Wal-Mart to shop for Chia Seeds and Equate Clear Soluble Fiber Powder Prebiotic Fiber Supplement for even more Dietary Fiber added to my diet. It's ... As ... If ... I'm ... Having ... My ... Cholesterol ... And ... Triglycerides ... Levels ... Checked ... Soon!  🤭🤭🤭

Don't worry, though. I make sure to incorporate a diet Cheat Day once ( or twice 🤔 ) each week. 😁

I watched this short movie while I waited for over 2 hours after taking my Digoxin Heart medicine because I have to wait 2 hours before or after taking this drug to eat a High Fiber Meal!

audience reaction:  The audience liked it.  And it got a "Hands Clapper" ending.

recommendation:  It's a formulaic Chick Flick, pretty much.  Go see it if that's your "thing".

spoiler alert!  What is a kingdom without a king and a queen, only a prince?  I never heard of such a thing.    What about the soldiers and guards?  There were none; only the prince's personal servants were in the castle.  In reality, if a person found himself alone in a dark, unoccupied building where objects take on a life of their own, that poor person would probably just die of fright!  Who can eat 5,000 eggs a day?  How did that skinny little Belle managed to put the unconscious Beast on the horse all by herself? Pigs do not wallow in the wintertime when the temperature drops down below 70 degrees Fahrenheit.  I don't think that the women back then wore brassieres.  How was Chip able to figure-out how to operate the newfangled invention?  The leading man in this movie and the one in the other Disney movie, TANGLED, both died a similar death and were revived pretty much the same way, too!

fyi:  I didn't see this movie when it first came out in 1991.

I wasn't much into movies back then.

Eggs are actually healthy for you.  Egg protein is the "Gold Standard" Protein by which all other kinds of protein are measured.  Although the egg yolk is high in Cholesterol, the egg white has enough Lecithin in it to counter the bad effects of Cholesterol!  It was the Grain Lobbyists who financed the Egg Study to fool the general public into thinking that eating a breakfast that is very  high in Sugar, Starch and Simple Carbohydrates is "better" for you than a breakfast that is high in Protein, Complex Carbohydrates and Fats.

word of advice:  Looks can be deceiving.  ( But I still won't marry an ugly girl! )

tidbits:  I forgot that today is a holiday, Martin Luther King's Day, to be exact. Lots of people turned-out at the cineplex!  And my usual favorite parking spaces were all taken-up so that I had to park far away, farther than I cared to park.

I ate at MacDonald's after the movie.

Then, I drove back home, took a shower, did some correspondence, and went to work.
