SUPER TROOPERS 2, R ( 1 hr & 43 min )

-

I went to see this today, Friday, April 20th, 2018, in Napa, CA, at the Century Napa Valley 12, for its 4:45 p.m. showing in auditorium 2, row 4, seat 10. The price of admission was $9.25. And I bought a 20.0 oz Dasani Water for $4.10 (?) at the concessions counter.

Quickie Review:  When the borderline between the US and Canada is about to be redrawn, the Super Troopers are called back to active duty to set-up a Highway Patrol Station in a disputed border town of Canada.

What I think about this movie: This movie is not much of an improvement on the original. But for fans of the original SUPER TROOPERS, this is a welcome sequel.

Two scenes that I found funny: "The Key To Life Is To Have Happiness In Your Household ( said in the "French-Canadian" way was hilarious )"; and "Wrapped In The Japanese Flag."

However, the "Wet T-Shirt" scene--that the rest of the audience found funny--was just plain ridiculous to me ( taking too many Science courses in college will do that to anyone, I guess )!   😕

There are outtake scenes during the Ending Credits; and a scene after it.

-------------------------------------------------------------

So, today, I went to my place of employment to pick-up my paycheque and to look at my next week's schedule. And, wouldn't you know it, I am scheduled to work next week when I'm supposed to have it off! You see, I was supposed to have last week off and this week off. But they screwed-up my vacation and had me scheduled to work last week! The manager told me that he will give me this week off--which I did--and next week off--which I DIDN'T. Arrgh ....   😠   When I go to work next week, I'll be sure to give the manager a daily reminder that I want the following week off.

I planned to have two weeks off back-to-back to do some Spring Cleaning around the house. But that isn't happening now because ... 1.) I've been sick the last four days,   🤒     🤧   and 2.) My vacation schedule was messed-up. Oh, well ....

I deposited some of my money at the Benicia Chase Bank. And I'm just one measly payment away from paying-off my mortgage!   ☺️   I could pay it off right now--or even much sooner--but I decided to just let my automatic mortgage payment end it come May 1st, a Tuesday.     😀

But, you know what really pisses me off about my mortgage? The total principal payment left is for $46.15 plus an interest of $0.31 AND ... a "filing fee/recording costs" of $100.00!   😵   They get you, coming and going! Bankers seem like a bunch of "white collar" crooks!

I went to the Mirchi Indian Grill on Columbus Parkway, Benicia, to have a buffet lunch.     😋

And I had to go to the Vallejo branch of the California Automobile Association ( CSAA ) to get a new license tag for my blue Hyundai Accent.    🚗   As today is the deadline for it.

Just before I got to the boundary between Vallejo and American Canyon, I hit a 3- or 4- inch sawed-off branch laying on the road!   😲  I couldn't swerve to the left because there was a car there beside my car. I checked my car's front right tire later on and it seemed okay.   Whew!      😓

And on the way to Napa, on the bridge just past the American Canyon Super Wal-Mart, I saw a dead fawn on the side of the bridge. Poor thing.     😢

Before going to the theatre, I decided to stop at the nearby Jack In The Box to have a large fountain drink because it was hot today. When I entered the parking lot, some bitch in a black SUV cut me off at the intersection! She had the stop sign and I had the right of way. But did she yield to me? No, because the idiot bitch was clueless of the fact that a vehicle entering a parking lot has the right of way over a vehicle exiting said parking lot--it's printed clearly in the California ( CLUSTERFUCKNIA is what I call it now because of the libertard idiots running it into the ground ) Driver's Handbook!      😤

I've been calling my home state, CLUSTERFUCKNIA, for almost a year now; no thanks to "gov." moonbeam and his minions!      😡

After the movie was over, I searched the floor for the Dasani Water's bottle cap which had fallen sometime earlier. I found it. I also found a Nickel and 2 Dimes!  Thank you, Lord, for this token of abundance.      😃

This SUPER TROOPERS 2 movie is partially funded by individuals through INDIEGOGO. Now, I know what to do with some of my money should I win the lottery Big-Time!     🤑

GOD'S NOT DEAD: A LIGHT IN DARKNESS / PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST

PG  ( 1 hr & 46 min )
-

I went to see this movie on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018, at the Edward's Fairfield Stadium 16 & I-Max, in Fairfield, CA, for the 11:20 a.m. showing in auditorium 5, row 4, seat 7. The price of admission was $5.45.

Quickie Review:  A church at a college campus accidentally burns. And the college wastes no time in trying to have the historical landmark demolished to make way for a student center. The minister ( David A. R. White ) enlists the aid of his lawyer brother ( John Corbett ), an atheist, to help him win the case.

Here's what  I don't like about this movie:  In today's "intellectually enlightened" society, people
are moving away from the God of the Bible and embracing the STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Math ) gods. This movie illustrates the shift in the belief of the masses. But, also, it foreshadows the alarming anti-Christian/pro-Islam trend that is taking place in Europe and in the USA.

PG-13   ( 1 hr & 48 min )
-

I went to see this on the same day and at the same theatre as the previous movie. I watched this movie in auditorium 2, row 3, seat 9. The price of admission was $5.45. And I bought a medium fountain drink ( half pink lemonade/half fruit punch ) at the concessions counter for $6.50.

Quickie Review:  It is near the end of Paul's ( James Faulkner ) life as he sits in jail awaiting the time of his execution. His faithful companion, Luke ( Jim Caviezel ), writes his final sermons.

Here's what I don't like about this movie:  Paul was not, I repeat, was not an apostle of Christ! He never met Jesus Christ. He was not even a disciple of any one of the 12 apostles. He belonged to a mob that went around stoning Christ's Apostles and Disciples. Saint Peter was divinely appointed by Christ, Himself, as the successor/founder of the Christian Church. Paul was humanly appointed--by none other than his own self--to head the "church"; and he introduced ideas that run contrary to the teachings of Christ, a two-fold blasphemy against the Holy Spirit! Paul presided over the "church" in place of Christ's chosen successor. The Greeks have a term for it: Anti Christo ( you know what it means ).

Luke, on the other hand was a former slave who became a physician. A later scene shows the Roman officer ( Olivier Martinez ) asking Luke for medical help instead of asking Paul for a miraculous healing. This is a very telling development in the movie. Anyway, Luke was also not an apostle of Christ--he, too, never even met Christ, Himself.

SUBEDAR JOGINDER SINGH, NR ( 2 hr & 19 min )

-

I went to see this movie's 10:25 p.m. showing yesterday, Thursday, April 12th, 2018, at the Century Hilltop 16 in Richmond, CA, in auditorium 13, row 6, seat 8. The price of admission was $11.50. And I bought a 20 oz. Dasani Water for $4.25 at the concessions counter.

Quickie Review:  A military officer, with experience in two previous wars, is recalled into active duty in 1962 during the Sino-India Border War. Heavily outnumbered, he and his men achieve martyrdom in the field of battle. Subedar Singh was posthumously awarded India's Highest Wartime Gallantry Award.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I went to see this upon the recommendation of Taj Grill Restaurant's proprietor here in Vallejo, CA, when I went to have lunch there the day before, on Wednesday. I had mentioned to him that I recently saw SAJJAN SINGH RANGROOT. That was when he told me to go check-out SUBEDAR JOGINDER SINGH.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this movie.

-------------------------------------------------------------

What's wrong with this movie?  The battle, as depicted, left much to be desired. I really don't know how it unfolded in real life; but the way it was depicted in this movie did not make sense. The Indian Army had the advantage as they were on top of a hill. But they didn't take advantage of that for these reasons: Their trenches were not built properly; by this, I mean that small "portholes" should have been built into the walls to afford the shooters with better head protection; there were no snipers posted; they were not spread out; the two times that the Chinese soldiers retreated, they should have appropriated the dead soldiers' rifles, grenades and ammunition since their ammunition was in short supply.

But the glaring error was the fact that this movie showed Subedar Singh fighting to the death. When, in reality, he was critically wounded, captured, and taken to Tibet as a p.o.w. where he died from his wounds.

The Chinese, out of respect for the Indian hero, returned his ashes to his homeland when India awarded Subedar Singh with the highest military honors.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Before the movie started, I wanted to have dinner at the nearby McDonald's Restaurant. But it closed at 9:00 p.m. I scanned the whole shopping center to see if there was another restaurant open late at night. That was when I spotted Me n Ed's Pizza Parlor across the parking lot.

-

I should have worn my jacket, instead of my vest, when I walked two hundred yards from the theatre to the restaurant.   😕

I had a sandwich and a fountain drink. I forget how much I paid for both.

P.S. I liked SAJJAN SINGH RANGROOT better--except for the "British" lady with her bad English accent.     😆

BAAGHI 2, NR ( 2 hr & 17 min )

-

I went to the MAYA CINEMAS, in Pittsburg, CA, yesterday, Monday, April 9th, 2018, to see the 7:30 p.m. showing of this movie in auditorium 6, row 4, seat 6. The price of admission was $10.00. And I bought a medium drink and a medium popcorn for $11-something.

Quickie Review:   A soldier gets an urgent call from his ex-girlfriend. And a complicated mystery soon unravels surrounding the disappearance of a little girl.

---------------------------------

This is Bollywood's answer to Rambo but with more over-the-top action sequences. It's a good enough action movie if you just ignore the "logic potholes".      🤓

----------------------------------

I decided to see this movie in Pittsburg because it's not showing in Richmond, CA.

I have never been to Pittsburg before. And this is the second MAYA CINEMAS that I have been to. If you recall, I went to a Maya Cinemas in Bakersfield, CA, about 10 years ago.

I had to rely on my Samsung Galaxy J-3 Luna Pro's free GPS app to help me with my travel.

I saw a homeless encampment along the freeway on my way to Pittsburg.    😮

And I took the wrong exit because my GPS said, "Take Exit 26." Even though the exit sign said, Willow Pass Road! I soon found myself on a lonely stretch of country road---Well, at least I now know what is at the opposite end of Concord's Willow Pass Road! Upon closer examination, I realized that my GPS was on "preview mode"! What kind of idiot, with a stupid sense of humor, would even think of putting a "preview mode" program on a GPS device? I wasted time and gas because of it!   😡

I eventually arrived at my intended destination after another wrong turn. Next time, I will navigate doing it "old school" style: With A Map!    👍

-

The theatre is on Century Boulevard because, at one time, it used to be a CENTURY CINEMAS.

And I really don't know why Century sold this theatre to Maya because it is in a very nice shopping center with LOTS of Eateries.  😋 .   But no buffet restaurant, though   ☹️ . None that I noticed, anyway.    😕

I will have to come back here more often even though it is over 23 miles away from where I live.   😊
